"The closer to 40 cards, the better". How many times did you hear that when building your Deck? I bet many times. While that is true, it doesn't mean that decks with over 40 cards are bad. The prime example of it is 60 card themless highlander. (60CTH for short) What is it you might ask? The name is self-explanatory. It plays 60 cards, has no theme, and is highlander, means that it plays no more than 1 copy of each card. However, it doesn't mean that it just plays 60 completly random cards with no real strategy, like most decks of new players. To help you grasp the concept, here is the example build:

The pro of 60CTH are the fact that it's pretty much impossible to side against. And to easily handles commonly used stuff like Chain Dissapearance of Effect Veiler. Also, it's a very versalite deck, as you can include pretty much everything in it.
Excluding 60CTH, there are crapload of possible 60 card highlanders variants, but quoting my friend:
I tried 60 card ratbox highlander, 60 card zombie highlander, 60 card high monster beat highlander, 60 card chaos highlander, 60 card high monster beat chaos highlander, 60 card plant highlander, 60 card DARK highlander, 60 card machine highlander, 60 card Gravekeeper highlander, 60 card monarch highlander, 60 card synchro-heavy highlander, 60 card WATER highlander, and a few other builds that never really got through the first few duels. They occasionally showed a fun combo or something, but all performed worse than 60 card themeless highlander.
But in all seriousness, the deck is actually pretty good and playable. Give it a try sometimes.
YES
ReplyDeleteYES YES YES YES YES
I need to do this someday
ReplyDeleteYou forgot Trago : (
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, deck looks awesome ;)
You can't say that I "forgot" something in 60CTH :P But yeah, I was supposed to include him
ReplyDeleteGotta agree with Kowa there. 60CTH is a very flexible build. Arguments could be made to say all sorts of things were 'forgotten': Trago, Soulkius, Armored Bee, Doomcal, Lyla, Birdman, Mcon, Bottomless, Starlight - I could go on for ages, but you probably get the point that there simply isn't always the space in 60CTH.
ReplyDeleteBirdman IS there.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, 60CTH is one of the most clogged decks ever
Bottomless is missing. Build is wrong. Take out the fucking Catastrophe. LOL
ReplyDeleteCatastrophe is pro, don't deny it
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, it's good indeed. Neg a bribe, maybe?
ReplyDeleteMy bad. Was looking for "Ally Genex" instead of "Genex Ally"
ReplyDelete(Darn lack of edit...)
ReplyDeleteAlso, it's amusing how a Deck with 50% extra card slots and that has around 2x as many again by not running multiples is also one that has trouble finding space. Just goes to show how amazingly modifiable it is.
Exactly :P
ReplyDeleteIf the theme of 60CTH is to be themeless, does it have a theme or not?
ReplyDelete...interesting question :P
ReplyDeletePenguin, do you have MSN? YCM is down, and we have to communicate somehow
No...
ReplyDeleteVery Interesting... But dead draws and bad hands must happen from time to time, no?
