How much will the obligatory GENF TCG Exclusive Exceed suck?

You know Konami, their TCG exclusives are always hit or miss. They've tried their hands at quite a few different things for TCG Exclusives, but one thing they surprisingly didn't do too much of was Synchros. They only did 4:

1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner LIGHT monsters

Once per turn, you can change the battle position of 1 face-up monster your opponent controls. During battle between this attacking card and a Defense Position monster whose DEF is lower than the ATK of this card, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent.

1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner Monsters

1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner Psychic-Type monsters

Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can pick 1 random card in your opponent's hand and call what type of card it is (Monster, Spell or Trap). If you call it right, this card gains 1000 ATK until your opponent's End Phase.

1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner Winged Beast-Type monsters

When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Winged Beast-Type monster from your Deck.

As you can plainly see, not a single one of these can be considered "good" most of the time, with the only one I can see ever being seriously used being Scrap Archfiend, since it has the highest ATK of all LV7 Synchros.

But now, Yu-Gi-Oh! ZeXal is coming out soon. I can pretty much guarantee that the sneak peek promo for GENF will be an Exceed. But will it suck as badly as Parshath did? Only time will tell.

  1. Parshath and Archfiend are actually good. Vortex is usable in its own deck, but yeah, Nightmare sucks

  2. How is Parshath at all decent? I'd honestly Synch for something else before it most of the time.

  3. Depends on deck TBH, but in some decks, it's better than any other Level 8

Also, you forgot Tempest Magician. It was TCG-only too
